Accessibility statement

Our goal
SATRDÉ aims for the ESAT platform — assessments, reports and training courses — to meet the Revised Section 508 Standards, which adopt the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
How we test
- Automated checks of every page with axe-core using the Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA rule sets.
- Keyboard-only checks of the main tasks: signing in, taking an assessment, viewing results, taking and building courses.
- Visible focus, text alternatives, labelled form fields, sufficient color contrast and screen reader announcements.
- Course editing supports keyboard reordering (arrow keys) as an alternative to drag and drop.
- SCORM course exports (1.2 and 2004 3rd Edition) include their own accessibility statement.
Known limitations
- Some existing course videos do not have captions yet. Caption files are being added; lessons include written key points.
- Automated tools cannot find every issue. A formal third-party audit and Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) are planned.
Report a problem
If something is hard to use with your assistive technology, please tell your SATRDÉ contact or use the Help menu inside the platform. We aim to respond within five business days and can provide content in another format on request.
